GRADUATE ASSISTANT

Chris Mott
Habitat & Rangelands
Christopher Mott is a Junior at Sul Ross State University pursuing a bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Management. Chris looks at the natural world from one of the smallest and most influential perspectives of the ecosystem- the lens of invertebrates. His love for these tiny critters will lead him to pursue a master’s degree at Borderlands Research Institute after achieving his Bachelor’s degree. “There’s not an ugly day in the Trans-Pecos,” Chris states, “ and I am blessed to study one of the most underappreciated organisms in it.”
Chris Mott is an undergraduate technician with a passion for invertebrates and their relationship with the natural world. Throughout his undergraduate career, he has collaborated with graduate students studying the relationships between dung beetles in cattle grazing systems, pollinators in mowing regimes of a National Historic Site, and the abundance of insects in different seeded techniques to reclaim abandoned oil pads.
