MARK MOELLER
Mark Moeller is the Grant Accountant for the Borderlands Research Institute at Sul Ross State University. He provides financial oversight and administrative support for sponsored projects, gifts, and grants, ensuring resources are managed responsibly and efficiently to advance research and conservation.
Mark earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of North Florida and a Master of Public Policy and Administration from the University of Tennessee. He began his career in public service, where he developed expertise in auditing, compliance, and financial management. Later, he transitioned into higher education, supporting sponsored programs and research initiatives. This combination of government and university experience gives him a strong foundation in accountability, transparency, and stewardship.
At BRI, Mark works closely with faculty, staff, and external partners to ensure compliance with grant requirements while helping provide the financial framework for conservation research and outreach. His role supports projects that conserve wildlife, habitats, and natural resources across West Texas.
Dedicated to service and collaboration, Mark is committed to helping faculty and students achieve their goals. He takes pride in building systems that enable researchers to focus on science and outreach. His contributions provide a foundation of trust and reliability that strengthens the institute’s mission of conservation.
