TPWC 2022 AGENDA

Join us for the Trans-Pecos Wildlife Conference August 4th and 5th!

For the first time since 2016, the Trans-Pecos Wildlife Conference will be held at Sul Ross State University (SRSU) on August 4th and 5th of this year. The event will be co-hosted by the Borderlands Research Institute (BRI), Texas Wildlife Association (TWA), and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD).

West Texas landowners face unique management challenges. The Trans-Pecos Wildlife Conference aims to address their needs by covering relevant topics on big game species like pronghorn, aoudad, bighorn sheep, and mule deer, as well as nongame species like black bears and songbirds. Attention will also be given to energy development and conservation planning, as well as landowner support programs for habitat restoration activities.

Topics include:
Conservation Planning and Energy Development in the Big Bend
Landowner Incentives for Conservation
Bird-Friendly Beef
Birding and Ecotourism
Living with Black Bears
Aoudad in West Texas
Updates on Chronic Wasting Disease
Plus Networking Opportunities
A Field Trip
And more!

August 4th will be a full day of seminars at Sul Ross State University, followed by a half day in the field on the 5th. Attendees are also invited to join us for a mixer on the evening of the 4th after the seminars–details on this will be provided later.
