LYDIA SALDAÑA
Lydia Saldaña is the communications consultant for the Borderlands Research Institute. She has been communicating about natural resource conservation issues for more than 25 years. She is a writer, video producer, public relations practitioner and media communications trainer. She joined the Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation (TPWF) team as Communications Director in 2014 after more than 23 years of state service with Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. In addition to her part-time work with TPWF, she also provides ongoing communications services to several other conservation organizations, including Borderlands Research Institute, the Western Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies and Audubon Texas. Prior to her TPWD career, she was a broadcast journalist in Dallas/Fort Worth and Austin. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Journalism degree and in 2011 completed a master’s degree in Mass Communication at Texas State University in San Marcos.
