Restoring Native Plant Diversity in Invasive Grass-Dominated Rangelands

Asia’s doctoral research examines how invasive grasses alter plant communities, soil conditions, and ecological processes in rangeland ecosystems. She will evaluate restoration practices intended to reduce invasive-grass dominance and increase the diversity and establishment of native plants. Her research will also investigate soil–plant interactions to understand how soil characteristics, microbial relationships, and resource availability influence restoration outcomes. By connecting aboveground vegetation responses with belowground processes, this work will help identify why some restoration practices succeed while others fail. The findings will support more effective strategies for restoring diverse and resilient native plant communities across invaded rangelands.
