About Us

Anna is currently studying Natural Resource Management with a concentration in Conservation Biology. Her primary interests are plant and insect diversity and how trends in those populations correlate with environmental health and function. She is also interested in helping to develop efficient methods for landscape rehabilitation in areas like ours that have low rates of rainfall, nutrient cycling, and change over time, as well as prioritizing public education and collaboration with landowners to help grow societal environmental literacy.

Anna is contributing as an undergraduate technician by applying plant identification knowledge to assist with vegetation sampling on the Mimms Ranch unit for a project evaluating the relationships between plant species makeup, soil moisture, and ground cover. She has also assisted with a master’s project focusing on how different land treatments affect insect populations in Fort Davis National Historical Site. Anna feels that insect processing and identification is incredibly challenging, but one of the most fulfilling tasks, as the field is hugely understudied.
