DR. ROB KINUCAN

Dr. Rob Kinucan is Executive Vice President and Provost of Sul Ross State University and a Professor in the Department of Natural Resource Management. His research interests are in rangeland ecology, ecological succession and plant population biology. Dr. Kinucan is past president of the Non-Land-Grant Agricultural and Renewable Resource Universities (NARRU, formerly AASCARR), where he currently serves on the board of directors, as chair of the membership committee, and as NARRU representative to the USDA Food and Agricultural Education Information System (FAEIS). He is also past president of the Agricultural Consortium of Texas where he currently serves as the Sul Ross State University representative. Dr. Kinucan has served as an associate editor for the Texas Journal of Agriculture and Natural Resources since 1988 and has been a Certified Professional in Range Management since 2001.

Prior to joining Sul Ross in 1988, Dr. Kinucan was a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Rangeland Ecology and Management at Texas A&M University, a postdoctoral research associate with the USDA Agricultural Research Service, Blackland Prairie Laboratory in College Station, Texas, and a TAMU College of Agriculture Tom Slick Graduate Research Fellow. He earned a Ph.D. from Texas A&M University, where his dissertation focused on seed banks, plant competition and successional processes in grazed systems on the Edwards Plateau. He earned an M.S. in Range Management from the University of Wyoming and a B.S. in Range Resources from the University of Idaho.
